Item Description

Insulate your new or existing 8 in. duct pipe with this Master Flow 8 in. Dia fiberglass insulation ductwork sleeve. Enjoy consistent air temperature and reduced system condensation and noise. On new pipe installation - simply slide the sleeve over the 8 in. duct pipe as it is being installed. For existing duct pipe up to 8 in. Dia - cut the jacket length wise (insulation is pre-cut) and wrap around the pipe.

Insulation sleeves are a cozy blanket for your round sheet metal ducts! This sleeve slid over the duct just fine. I was a little concerned the outer foil layer would tear but it held up to installation, including taping and duct sealant. I am in the final phase of my residential duct renovation project and just ordered some 6" diameter Masterflow R-8 sleeves to help finish out this job. I only wish these were on the store shelves, instead of R-6 sleeves. That would have saved me a couple weeks waiting for parts to arrive.

Pros - Tube-y insulationCons - Very pricey. Had to cut it to install. No problem until duct tape came off the foil & fell apart. Wrapped it around and restuck the tape to itself & it's holdingConclusion - Unless you can slide it on new ducts, just buy some foil-backed insulation & cut it to size
